The story behind the journey

About us

My name is Steven Kirwan

I’m the creator behind Never Too Late to Create — a late-life, step-by-step, sometimes messy journey to building a successful YouTube channel. This website is part of that journey.

For most of my life, I never thought of myself as someone who would start a YouTube channel. I’ve been a writer, a podcaster, a digital publisher, a website builder — but actually putting myself on camera? Building something from scratch in public? That was a different story.

Why I started this

I reached a point where I realized I had spent too much time waiting. Waiting until I looked better. Waiting until I felt more confident. Waiting until everything was “ready.” But perfection can become procrastination — and procrastination can quietly turn into failure. At some point, you just have to begin.

What this journey includes

  • New video episodes
  • Lessons I’m learning as a new creator
  • Tools and resources I discover
  • Behind-the-scenes notes
  • Mistakes and what they taught me
  • Honest reflections on fear, confidence, aging, and creativity
  • Practical how-to notes for people who want to create but don’t know where to begin

Who this is for

This project is for anyone who has ever thought: I’m too old to start. I don’t know enough. I don’t like how I look on camera. I missed my chance. I understand every one of those thoughts — because I’ve had them too. The answer is not to wait until the fear disappears. The answer is to create anyway.

What you can expect

This will not be a polished, sanitized version of success. You’ll see wrong steps, technical problems, uncertainty, experiments, corrections, and progress. Messy. Honestly. One step at a time.

If you’ve ever wanted to start a creative project but felt like it was too late, I hope this site encourages you. Maybe your thing is YouTube. Maybe it’s writing. Maybe it’s podcasting. Maybe it’s music, art, teaching, storytelling, ministry, or something you haven’t even named yet. Whatever it is, maybe this is the reminder:

You are not too late
I’m starting now. You can too
